RHESUS FACTOR AND MARRIAGE  ASIDE KNOWING YOUR GENOTYPE BF MARRIAGE, THERE'S NEED FOR ONE TO KNOW HER RHESUS FACTOR! RHESUS FACTOR INCOMPATIBILITY IS A LEADING CAUSE OF MISCARRIAGE! NOT ALWAYS YOUR VILLAGE PEOPLE! PLEASE TAKE TIME TO READ DZ: Rhesus Factor is an antigen that exists on the surface of red blood cells in most people (about 85% of humans). It is also referred to as Rh Factor. People who have the Rh have “positive” (+) blood types, such as A+, O+ or B+ are said to be rhesus Factor positive,  while those who  have the Rh  “negative” (-) blood types, such as A–, O– or AB– are said to be rhesus factor negative . The “+” and “-” in front of the blood group is the Rhesus factor. Generally, we have A+, A–, B+, B–, AB+, AB–, O+ and O–. Rhesus factor is genetic in nature. It is inherited from the parents, emphatically the father. How does Rhesus Factor cause miscarriage? If a Rh– woman is impregnated by a man with Rh–, there wouldn’t be any problem. However, if a Rh
How To Identify A Scam Interview Invitation  1. *The message does not bear a company name* : most of these scammers won't include their names on the message you will receive. All you will see are the address, the time and date and a phone number. A genuine company will not hide its identity from a potential employee.  2. *The message will say "interview/job briefing":* whatever job briefing means I don't know! 3. *You will see a code or reference:* something like "HR=0056" or "REF=002". This is an indication of the code number of the person who invited you to the "job briefing". 4. *It will contain a phone number* : this is the number of your referer. Most genuine companies don't give phone numbers. 5. *You will see HR Admin* in the message instead of company name 6. If you call their number, they will be reluctant to give info on the company.  And pls, ignore those people sharing job flyers on the streets, and those
Does everyone get a cancer? Yes. Everyone gets cancer. In fact, if you are reading this, then technically you have had, or will have cancer, some time today. Let me explain. Cancer is a failure of the biological mechanisms that govern the normal lifecycle of cells in your body. For a range of reasons, the biological mechanisms that govern cell division, cell growth and cell death occasionally go wrong, resulting in cells growing and dividing uncontrollably. Cancerous cells may take over normal cells in surrounding tissue or detach, enter the bloodstream and spread to other parts of the body. Uncontrolled cancerous cell growth can cause other complications in the body, which can ultimately result in death. There are various failures that can take place in the otherwise normal biological processes of cell lifecycle that can result in cancer. For example, a cell may receive an incorrect biological message from other cells telling it to multiply, a cell may not divide properly o
SAFETY TIPS FROM NATIONAL ORIENTATION AGENCY  PLEASE READ IT 1. Never go to bed with your car's fuel tank empty (No fuel). In case of an emergency, what if your good neighbour isn't at home. 2. Never employ a nanny you don't know her home. Some of them are child traffickers in disguise. 3. Never go to bed with your phone empty (No airtime). Most emergencies happen at night. 4.  Do not stand or park your car under high tension cable especially when it is windy. 5.  Do not attempt to start your generator with your phone torchlight as the source of light. As this could cause explosion. 6.  Do not answer telephone calls in the kitchen when your gas cylinder is turn on. 7.  Endeavour to crawl under the smoke if a house is engulfed by smoke, as walking straight could cause suffocation. Smoke mounts up. 8.  If by mistake you swallow a fish bone, lick salt, and pull your ears while you cough out the fish bone. 9.  If you are in any traffic or 'hold up'
Our prayer for you our reader

Dos and don'ts for a healthy life  MUST DO’s : Have  4 liters of water daily(Early morning 2 liters and rest of the day 2) Drink  2 glasses of juice  every day. Eat  Sprouts  everyday (Best protein diet . Most preferably in the morning) Eat  Green leafy  vegetables daily (most preferably in the afternoon ) Don’t eat white rice  (Prefer Brown rice which contains B complex vitamins) Eat either  Chapatis or Fruits at night. (Rice has more carbs ,which may be converted into fats) Eat  Dinner  before  6 PM . Do not drink water half an hour before eating, and Drink water only after 2 hours of eating. Wash your face  twice a day . Have cold water bath  once a day  and also prefer  head bath , but without shampoo. Helpful if done : Try doing fasting for a complete day once a week. Overview of Respiration  Lungs are in the chest and belly breathing, although contrary to its name, is breathing occurring in the chest and not in the belly. This is the thoracic diaphragm — It is a dome or a parachute-shaped massive muscle that separates the chest from the abdominal cavity. It is the  primary  muscle of respiration because when the huge muscle contracts and the  dome flattens , substantial negative pressure is generated inside the chest cavity to pull the lungs open and allow the air to move in. Conversely, when the muscle relaxes and bounces back to its original shape, the rib cage and the lungs contract and the air moves out. Since the muscle is considerably vast and strong, the powerful flattening of the dome during contraction  increases the pressure inside the abdomen and the belly rises/moves outward. Therefore, joining the aforementioned dots — Belly breathing = diaphragmatic breathing = breathing happening in the chest/lungs. It is easier
Is it possible to have an animal to human organ transplant?  Transplanting animal organs into humans has been in the works for centuries. The transplantation of animal organ, tissues or cell across species is called Xenotransplantation. Tissue xenotransplants have been carried out as early as the 17th to 18th century when blood was transfused into human patients with mixed results. In 1838, the first corneal xenotransplantation (from a pig) was performed in a patient, whereas the first corneal allograft (human-to-human) was not carried out until more than 65 years later, in 1905. China has reportedly performed more than 400 corneal xenotransplants since 2015 when it was approved. Organ xenotransplantation has actually been performed as far back as the early 20th century when a French surgeon implanted a pig kidney and a goats liver in his human patients, they didn't survive, It'd have been a miracle if they did. In 1963, chimpanzee kidneys were transplanted int
Are the shapes of RBCs really important?  People often say it’s to maximize surface area to volume ratio and thus the efficiency of oxygen diffusion from the blood plasma to all the hemoglobin in the RBC. I used to write that myself. I don’t believe it anymore, on at least two grounds: (1)  The RBCs of birds have to be just as efficient as ours in transporting oxygen, if not more so because of the demands of flight. But bird RBCs are football-shaped with a big nucleus, so I don’t think RBC shape has anything to do with gas transport efficiency. Bird erythrocytes: (2)  The only places that our RBCs load or unload oxygen is in the blood capillaries of the lungs and systemic tissues, and in both of these places, our RBCs  don’t have  that discoidal, biconcave shape. To squeeze through the capillaries, they become rounded, teardrop-shaped, or even folded over like a soft deflated air pillow folded double. The biconcave shape exists only in the larger vessels where gas exchange
Do not use a handkerchief when you sneeze. Use your elbow Coughing or sneezing spread germs and diseases.  People have been used to coughing or sneezing into their hands or handkerchief, however medical experts have advised against this.   They say when people cough or sneeze, they should do so into the crook of the elbow or upper sleeve and not their hands. They advise that another option is to cover their mouth and nose with a tissue.   The experts  said the handkerchief can be a harbinger of unpleasant micro-organisms, and bacteria can multiply in them, while sneezing into sleeves helps stop germs from spreading.   According to Dr. Ezie Patrick C, handkerchiefs can “store the germs in your pockets and ensure continuous re-infection.”   He said sneezing into sleeves is one of the ways of improving hygiene and preventing diseases like pneumonia.   Dr. Patrick who is also the Publicity Secretary of the Nigerian Medical Association, Federal Capital Territ
LASSA FEVER Lassa fever is an acute viral illness that occurs in west Africa. The illness was discovered in 1969 when two missionary nurses died in Nigeria. The virus is named after the town in Nigeria where the first cases occurred. The virus, a member of the virus family Arenaviridae, is a single-stranded RNA virus and is zoonotic, or animal-borne. Lassa fever is endemic in parts of west Africa including Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea and Nigeria; however, other neighboring countries are also at risk, as the animal vector for Lassa virus, the "multimammate rat" (Mastomys natalensis) is distributed throughout the region. In 2009, the first case from Mali was reported in a traveler living in southern Mali; Ghana reported its first cases in late 2011. Isolated cases have also been reported in Côte d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso and there is serologic evidence of Lassa virus infection in Togo and Benin. The number of Lassa virus infections per year in west Africa is estimated
Is the rate of cancers increasing or decreasing? Actually, the rate at which cancer occurs in the population has changed little in the past 40 years.  The overall number of cases continues to increase because the population is growing and also getting older, and cancer is largely a disease of aging.  As people get older, more cases of cancer will occur. However, the cancer death rate has dropped by 23% since 1991, translating to 1.7 million fewer deaths through 2012, according to the American Cancer Society.  This is largely because of early detection, better treatment, and fewer people are smoking tobacco, the culprit in most lung cancers and a contributor to several other types.  So cancer is probably not occurring at a greater rate, it’s just that there are more people who are more likely to develop cancer because of their age, but we are better able to detect and treat those cancers in many cases.
Minimize the time on your cell phone This actually typifies a health hazard seen with our frequent use of cellphone. Not a few people have died recently of brain cancer, pancreatic cancer, and acoustic neuroma metastasis. These people were very concerned about their way of life: very little or no social alcohol, meticulous living.  The only point then could have been an excessive use of mobile phone or the presence of several telephone masts near the house. That may have led to the suspicion of  the probable cause of death. About 91 per cent of American adults and 60 per cent of teenagers own mobile devices and  that has revolutionised communication in the 21st century. So whether you own an Android, an iPhone, a Blackberry, or a basic flip phone, chances are you check your phone for messages, alerts, or calls even when your mobile device isn’t ringing or vibrating, says Pew Internet & American Life Project survey. Nigeria is currently home to about 190 million connect
The Body, very Important Asset for Life. The Body is our vehicle for Life on earth, but apparently we value other things more than our bodies. For instance, We wash our cars weekly and put the best gasoline in them. We are careful about the service schedule and the type of oil we use for our cars and If something happens to the car, we immediately take it to the car service to fix it. However, when it comes to our real “car”, our body, we get lost on the way. When it comes to investing money in the ” good gas” for our bodies, we hesitate. Why is that? Is the car more valuable than our bodies? Is the Health of the car more important the health our bodies? The Answer is NO! We need to invest more on oiling our Machine i.e. our bodies. Comprehensive body checks should be undergone yearly. Complete health checkup is done in order to have a clear picture of a person's overall health, it means checking all aspects of vital health and finding out if there are any issues in early st
Is a human head transplant possible?  No, human head transplants are not possible - and they will not be possible for the foreseeable future. Not unless one would want the head to be able to control the body supporting it. This is what makes it impossible: The above is a cross section of single spinal nerve bundle under a scanning electron microscope  (the colours are computer generated - hence the red at the center, a blood vessel). Every circular shape is the myelin sheath (think of a cable insulation) encasing a neuronal axon (think of a cable wire), originating somewhere in the central nervous system and aiming at a particular sensory or kinetic (muscle) target. And the spinal cord contains  a great  number of these bundles, with millions of axons. No  light  microscope can achieve such magnification, mind you, an  electron  microscope would be needed. And observing a tissue sample under the electron microscope means that tissue is already dead, its micro-shape imprinted
SAY NO TO THERMOPLASTIC SEX DOLLS!!! Good morning good people, It is a common experience that good things don’t trend easily in Nigeria and most African countries; only harmful and low rated materials trend. Before you will kill yourself by yourself; let me review a vital secrete that sex doll manufacturer can never want you guys to know. Cheap chemicals, mainly plasticizers and solvents, are being widely used to produce sex toys. These chemicals, some of them have been banned in Europe and the United States. They have been proven to be toxic to the reproductive system, brain and vital organs. Some are carcinogenic substances. They also found porous, non-toxic materials could be harmful because they can never be completely sanitized. They just perpetually collect, and expose you to bacterial infections. Sex doll contain Phthalates; which are a group of chemicals used to make plastics softer and more flexible. They adversely affect human reproduction and development, and are “r
Latest breakthrough in cancer diagnosis Scientists have revealed that cancer can now be detected earlier by a new and revolutionary blood test that could spot eight different types of the disease. The blood test could detect the eight types of cancer at a point where they are more curable, the researchers claimed in a report by The Associated Press. The test, known as CancerSEEK, was developed by a team at the Johns Hopkins University, United States, which trialled a method that detected eight common forms of the disease identified as ovarian, liver, stomach, pancreatic, oesophageal, colorectal, lung and breast cancers. The test looks for mutations in 16 genes that regularly arise in cancer and eight proteins that are often released. It was trialled on 1,005 patients with cancers in the ovary, liver, stomach, pancreas, oesophagus, colon, lung or breast that had not yet spread to other tissues. The report said that even though 70 per cent success was recorded with the new tes
The struggle for freedom Dear friends, there's a very important piece of history I'll like to share with you which concerns you. On December 1, 1955, a middle-aged "negro woman" in America, Mrs. Rosa Parks, refused to stand up for a young white man who just entered the segregated bus she was ridding in. If she did, she would have had to stand all through the journey. At that time, the bus is segregated in most parts of America: white people sit in front rows and black people sit from the back. Blacks would normally pay fare to the driver in the front, then step out of the bus and go through the back door to find a place in an already tight area at the back. If the allocated spaces for blacks are filled, all other blacks joining the bus would have to stand even when the more than half of the bus spaces reserved for whites are empty! Such was the injustice and humiliation that black Americans faced then. For refusing to stand up for the young white man, M
